Declaration of Candidacy Deadline - August 10, 2018

The Imperial County Registrar of Voters reminds residents that the deadline to file a Declaration of Candidacy for the November 6, 2018 Consolidated General Election is August 10, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.

The following offices for which candidates may be nominated are as follows:

Desert Community College - TA 1
Imperial Community College - TA 2
Imperial Community College - TA 5
Imperial Community College - TA 7
Brawley Union High School
Central Union High School
Calexico Unified School
Calipatria Unified School
Coachella Valley Unified School
Holtville Unified School
Imperial Unified School
Brawley Elementary School
El Centro Elementary School
Heber Elementary
Magnolia Union Elementary School
McCabe Union Elementary
Mulberry Elementary School
Seeley Union Elementary School
Heffernan Memorial Healthcare
Pioneers Memorial Healthcare

Council seats for the cities of Calexico, Calipatria, El Centro, Holtville and Imperial will also be included in the Consolidated General Election. Candidates for these seats are required to file their Declaration of Candidacy and Nomination Petitions with their respective City Clerk by the August 10, 2018 deadline.

If a Declaration of Candidacy for any incumbent elective officer of a district is not filed by 5:00 p.m. on August 10, 2018, any person other than the incumbent shall have until 5:00 p.m. on August 15, 2018 to file a Declaration of Candidacy for the elective office.

Candidates wishing to submit a Candidate's Statement of Qualifications must do so at the time their Declaration of Candidacy is filed and before the deadline for both documents on August 10, 2018. A Statement of Qualifications is a 200-word or less statement from the candidate that is included in the Voter's Information Guide. Filing a Statement of Qualifications is not mandatory for candidacy.
