Invitations for interested individuals to serve on the Imperial County Workforce Development Board

Notice is hereby given that Pursuant to Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Section 107(b)(2) the Imperial County Workforce Development Board is soliciting interested individuals to serve for a three (3) year term. Current vacancies and criteria are as follow:

Vacancies:
Three (3) vacancies - Business Criteria
One (1) vacancy - Education Criteria
One (1) vacancy - Economic and Community Development Criteria
One (1) vacancy - Title I of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973

Criteria:
Businesses in Imperial County -
i. are owners of businesses, chief executive or operating officers of businesses, or other business executives or employers with optimum policymaking or hiring authority;
ii. represent businesses, including small businesses, or organizations representing businesses that provide employment opportunities that, at a minimum, include high-quality, work-relevant training and development in in-demand industry sectors or occupation in the county; and
iii. are appointed from among individuals nominated by local businesses organizations and business trade associations.
Education in Imperial County - Representative of institutions of higher education providing workforce investment activities (including community colleges.)
Economic and Community Development in Imperial County - Representative of economic and community development entities.
Title I of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 - Representative of programs carried out under Title 1 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 serving the local area.

Applications must be completed and submitted to the Clerk of the Board's office no later than November 13, 2017 by closing day.
