An Important Message From The Assessor

I want to welcome you to the Imperial County Assessor’ Website. We have modified this site to make it easier to access public information and to use new online services that are now available and those coming in the future. The new online services are part of our effort to improve how we serve taxpayers in keeping with the Imperial County  2020 Strategic Plan.

2017 Business Property Statements can still be submitted by using the various filing options offered by the Assessor’s Office.

Business filers who received a notice to file a 2017 Business Property Statement but have not yet filed it are encouraged to file a late return in order to accurately report the personal business property that they had in their possession on January 1, 2017. Late filed returns are subject to a 10% late filing penalty.

Late filed returns can be submitted by using either a paper form, fillable PDF form or any of the electronic filing options listed below. For more information call (442) 265-8805 or e-mail BusinessProperty@co.imperial.ca.us.

Agricultural business owners can electronically file (e-file) their Form 571-F property statements directly with the Assessor. To request a unique, private and secure code needed to access the e-file website, send an e-mail to rafaelgarcia@co.imperial.ca.us. If you already have an On-line Property Statement Filing Letter, Click on: Online Business Property Filing (OBPF) to access the Website and view the e-file instructions.

We are testing an e-file pilot program for non-farm businesses that annually file Form 571-L, 571-LA or 571-R.  Businesses that are interested in participating in the pilot program can send a request to rafaelgarcia@co.imperial.ca.us.  To access the e-SDR program go to: http://public.calbpsfile.org.

Businesses with multiple locations (recommended for 20 or more) in one or more California counties have the option of filing electronically using the California Assessors Association Standard Data Record system (CAA-SDR).  To access the CAA-SDR e-file network, go to: http://public.calbpsfile.org.

This Assessor"s website also has fillable PDF Property Statement forms that can be accessed on the Personal Property Forms page: PPForms  Once completed, the PDF form can be printed and mailed or delivered to the Assessor’s Office.
