Welcome to the Imperial County Assessor Website. The site is designed to provide easy access to public information as part of my commitment to provide timely and exceptional customer service to all Imperial County property owners and residents.
New to the site is a Property Value Notification feature that allows you to access your current property assessment, which you can then use to estimate your property tax bill. This information is very important for the 2017-2018 fiscal year, because assessed values will increase more than 2% for over 3,000 of the 29,000 single family residential properties throughout Imperial County.
For property owners who are affected by this state mandated assessment increase, be aware that it is the result of property values appreciating and the complex laws governing property taxes known as Proposition 8 and Proposition 13, Click on the Property Assessments Values in Transition link for a bettter understanding of the situation. I encourage all property owners to look at your current property assessment information and compare it against the assessment on last year’s tax bill to determine if your assessment has increased and estimate how much your property taxes will increase for the 2017-2018 tax year. Providing access to property assessment information early allows you to prepare for making the upcoming installment payments on your property taxes. The first installment is due on November 1st and becomes delinquent after December 11th. The second installment is due February 1st and becomes delinquent after April 10th.
If your property taxes are collected and paid by your lender through an impound account you should contact the lender after you receive your property tax statement to discuss increasing your monthly payment to avoid a shortfall in your property tax impound account.
