Paving Unpaved Public Roads Emission Reduction Credits (PERCs)
Time: 1/12/2015 2:00:00 PM
Place: Imperial County Farm Bureau 1000 Broadway Street El Centro, CA.
In an effort to continue reducing levels of particulate matter (PM) suspended in the air the Imperial County Air Pollution Control District (Air District) is introducing a viable mechanism to encourage voluntary investments into the public health and welfare by industry and other interested parties.
The Air District is introducing a newly proposed rule that would encourage, otherwise not available, paving of unpaved public roads throughout Imperial County. The newly proposed rule would provide for voluntary reductions of PM throughout Imperial County providing for the safety of the public health and welfare.
To help answer questions and to introduce the newly proposed rule the Air District is holding a workshop on Monday, January 12, 2015 to solicit questions and comments from industry, the general public and interested governments concerning the proposed adoption of newly proposed Rule 214.2.
All supporting documentation, staff reports, analysis, and review under the California Environmental Quality Act are on going. No date or proposed tentative date has been set for a Public Hearing. Please continue to visit our webpage for continue ongoing information regarding the newly proposed rule.
