The Salton Sea Air Basin is comprised of the Southern portion of Riverside County and all of Imperial County. The Imperial County is bordered by Riverside County to the North, Mexico to the South, San Diego County to the west and Arizona to the east. Surrounding Imperial County are high mountain ranges and desert.
